Using floral imagery, this fast-paced workshop introduces students to the basics of combining mixed media techniques with collage. With guidance focused on process and mixed media techniques, students will create one 6 x9-inch floral piece on watercolor paper. Instructor Susan Hurwitch will provide hands-on instruction in a supportive environment. All skill levels welcome.

Students should bring paintbrushes, acrylic paint, and a plastic tablecloth. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.

Susan Hurwitch views her art practice as a creative journey and so she relies heavily on the ability of color and the act of creating art to see her through new challenges. Susan has developed a creative process that combines the logic of piecing together collage materials with the freedom of intuition as a guide. The application of paper, paint and other mediums allows Susan to achieve a textural and tactile experience, with color serving as a catalyst for the viewer to share in the journey toward a sense of joy and happiness.
