Connect the Community to the Arts

Arts Advocates welcomes opportunities to collaborate with other arts organizations through their new series, “Speaking of the Arts…”

Arts Advocates launched “Speaking of the Arts…” on November 13, 2019.  Gayle Williams, Music Critic for the Herald Tribune, called the series “a Town Hall for the arts.”  Our first guest, Baltimore Symphony Conductor Marin Alsop, spoke about her “Adventures On and Off the Podium.”

In February, 2020,  we had the opportunity to eavesdrop on a conversation between Tony Award winning lyricist Lynn Ahrens and Celine Rosenthal, Asolo Repertory's  Associate Artistic Director.  Secrets for developing the lyrics and music for a brand-new musical, Knoxville, were shared.  Tune in to the fun! Knoxville was to make its World Premiere in March, 2020 at Asolo Repertory Theatre. It has been rescheduled for May 21 – June 5, 2021.  Previews begin May 14, 2021.
