The opening reception for the “Echoes of Sarasota” City of Sarasota Cultural Heritage Exhibit is Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4-6 p.m. at Sarasota City Hall, 1565 First Street. The program includes remarks by Mayor Debbie Trice, Public Art Committee Chair Heather Gorman, Colin Thomsen of Thomsen Fine Art, Arts Advocates President Bill Rusling, and Public Art Administrator Ciera Coleman. The reception is free and open to the public, no registration required. The exhibit is a partnership with Thomsen Fine Art with additional art from Arts Advocates.

Art Advocates has eight Sarasota Art Colony paintings in the exhibit by Eugene White, John S. Coppin, Charles Ray McCurry, Wilfred Berg, Loran Wilford, Martha Elizabeth (Dye) Hartman, and William Hartman. These works are part of the exhibit that features works by Frank Hopper and Regan Dunnick showcasing the history of Sarasota’s robust arts community. The free exhibit is open during regular City Hall business hours at 1565 First Street, Sarasota, until May 2027.
