Luncheon: Sarasota Orchestra with Joseph McKenna
A New Concert Hall is Coming to Sarasota!
Music lovers will soon enjoy the first purpose-built acoustically sound concert hall in southwest Florida. The Sarasota Orchestra has already broken ground for its new state-of-the-art 1,800 seat venue on Fruitville Road that will also include a 700-seat recital hall. We’ll learn more from Joseph McKenna, president and chief executive officer of the orchestra.
Concert goers will be happy to learn the 1,800-seat venue includes a center aisle, along with ample parking, a covered valet and drop off areas. There is also an event space planned for community arts organizations. You won’t want to miss this program about Sarasota’s beloved orchestra’s new home, so register now.
Joseph McKenna is responsible for executing the orchestra’s strategic plan that includes building this state-of-the art concert hall. During his tenure, the orchestra’s endowment increased by more than $10 million, the youth orchestra had its debut performance at Carnegie Hall, and the orchestra re-launched its brand including the name change to Sarasota Orchestra. McKenna holds a B.A. in trombone performance and music education from the New England Conservatory.
